Microsoft has recently launched the Surface Duo dual-screen device in more markets, and now the next big step for the company is to roll out a highly anticipated operating system update for all users.

More specifically, Microsoft is now working on the Android 11 update, and according to a recent report, this release is likely to happen in the summer.

While Microsoft has so far remained tight-lipped on everything in this regard, the report indicates that the summer is the most likely date for Android 11 to go live for the Surface Duo, though this would technically mean the dual-screen device would be a version behind as compared to Google’s own Pixel.

Google is projected to release Android 12 in the summer, so hopefully, Microsoft would complete its optimization work on the new OS much faster and release the new update by the end of the year.
